Located on the Fox River, 40 miles northwest of Chicago, the city of Elgin, Illinois has over 105,000 residents. The city was established in 1835, and was officially incorporated in 1854. During the first half of the 20th century Elgin became synonymous with fine watches, after the Elgin National Watch Company opened there and grew to dominate the U.S. watch market. While the watch factory closed in the 1960s, it left its mark on the city in part through the beautiful Victorian homes that still stand—some of which had been owned by the company’s executives. A rapidly growing city, Elgin now hosts the Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino, which has proven to be a very popular tourist attraction.

To reach our Chicago office from Elgin’s city center, begin by turning from East Chicago Street onto Center Street. Continue on Center, which turns into Dundee Avenue. Take a right onto Summit Street, which will become Golf Road. Then turn left onto Sutton Road. Merge onto I-90 E (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) toward Chicago. From I-90 E, take the East Washington Boulevard Exit, and turn left onto West Washington Boulevard. Finally, turn left onto North Wacker Drive.
